3D RENDERING OF THE SHIP: CAN YOU SPOT THE DIFFERENCE?

WIN-WIN STORY OF 3D RENDERING OF THE SHIP IN MIDST OF POST/PANDEMIC CHALLENGES

In the late winter of 2021, amidst all the pandemic turmoil, Dead Pixel Workshop got an adventure invitation. Our long-time friend Roko Vuković, a young captain and owner of 48,5 m luxury yacht Agape Rose, came up with a rather brave proposal, to say at least. Total 3D rendering of the ship, and a very short timeframe.

Just like many other luxury cruise business owners – in Croatia and around the globe – he was facing uncertainties and fighting for the very economic survival. Then he recalled how Dead Pixel Workshop creates 3D renderings that help to pre-sell architectural projects. And so, he decided it’s time for a leap of faith.

3D RENDERING OF THE SHIP AND ONE KILLER DEADLINE

In short, our client’s commission was: an integral 3D rendering of the ship. In truth, this was a total refit of his MS Agape Rose. It was not an “ordinary” 3D rendering of the ship. Our visualization had to turn this already luxury sea vessel into an even higher-class charter for smaller intimate groups. This was to be achieved by cutting the number of cabins in half and high-end refitting of the entire ship.

The project had to include elegant furniture and extra facilities such as a cinema, spa and gym area, spectacular sundeck, and more. Captain wanted spaces that are intimate, pampering, and safe, with a few reasons to even leave the vessel if one so desires.

And that was not all. The deadline was a killer, to say at least. Using Dead Pixel Workshop 3D ship renderings, he planned to pre-sell the yacht for the oncoming 2021 summer season and do the refitting in time.

Ambitious? Risky? Optimistic? Certainly so. Our client believed fortune favors the brave. And so did we.

We accepted the challenge: the dice have been cast!

RUNNING DOWN THE CLOCK

Since every hour counted, our main architects and assistants worked literally around the clock to produce the 3D rendering of the ship, including interiors and exteriors. Every selected brand of furniture, every piece and item, each lining, and every single tiniest detail was considered with utmost care. Naturally, we were in constant contact with our clients, as the situation demanded close coordination on every level.

This was one of those instances that proved all the strengths do the professional 3D rendering as it allowed not only for the photorealistic look but also for total cost control.

PRE-SELL HITS THE GOAL

Anyway, Dead Pixel Workshop delivered the 3D rendering of the ship in time. The visualization of the new incarnation of Agape Rose was there. Then – admittedly, with some amazement – we watched how during the next two weeks yacht’s capacities were sold in advance through marketing channels. However, there was no time for resting on laurels, as there were only a few months before the first guests arrive.

FINAL EXAM: 3D RENDERING OF SHIP TESTED IN THE DOCK

Our client took the vessel to the yard and began a thorough refitting process, following every single detail outlined in our 3D renderings of the yacht’s interiors and exteriors. As you can imagine, this period was even more challenging and stressful than the previous one. Experienced experts from the renowned Split yard worked around the clock with the owner.  We often stepped in, assisting in getting the exact items that were visualized in our original plan. Because – you’re guessing – that is exactly what the future yacht passengers bought. Our photorealistic vision of the ship had to be turned into a 100% faithful, real ship.

MS Agape Rose sailed into its 2021 summer season and did so with flying colors.

Navigation, we guess, is always fraught with challenges – but worth every mile, nevertheless!
